This artwork by Ruth Asawa achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2021. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Untitled (S.360, Hanging Single-Section, Reversible Open-Window Form) sold for USD 562,500.00 (€ 498,360.95) - well above the upper estimate of USD 300,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ruth Asawa have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (S.387, Hanging Three Separate Layers of Three-Lobed Forms) in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 4,095,000.00 (€ 3,716,308.19).
