Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Robert Therrien could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Curated featuring works from “In Its Own Light: Property from the Collection of Ed Cohen and Victoria Shaw” auction, the work No Title changed hands for USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,763.32) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Robert Therrien have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work No Title in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 64,625.00 (€ 74,332.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Robert Therrien konnte im März 2017 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated featuring works from “In Its Own Light: Property from the Collection of Ed Cohen and Victoria Shaw” wechselte die Arbeit No Title für USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.763,32) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Robert Therrien auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit No Title im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 64.625,00 (€ 74.332,87).
