Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Four Houses On Pennsylvania Avenue by Robert Bechtle was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 220,000.00 – 280,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 212,500.00 (€ 186,567.16). Other works by Robert Bechtle have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2010 by the work '64 Chrysler at USD 458,500.00 (€ 351,718.32).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Four Houses On Pennsylvania Avenue von Robert Bechtle im März 2016 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 220.000,00 – 280.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 212.500,00 (€ 186.567,16) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Robert Bechtle wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2010 die Arbeit '64 Chrysler mit USD 458.500,00 (€ 351.718,32).
