Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Trois Divas (A E I O U and sometimes Y) by Mickalene Thomas was sold in the Editions & Works on Paper auction at Phillips in New York in April last year. The price achieved of USD 17,640.00 (€ 16,741.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mickalene Thomas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Racquel Reclining Wearing Purple Jumpsuit in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,830,000.00 (€ 1,500,738.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Trois Divas (A E I O U and sometimes Y) von Mickalene Thomas wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 17.640,00 (€ 16.741,01) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mickalene Thomas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Racquel Reclining Wearing Purple Jumpsuit im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.830.000,00 (€ 1.500.738,07).
