Auction result well in line with expectations
The work October 1976 by Mickalene Thomas was auctioned at Christies in New York in November last year. The price achieved of USD 63,000.00 (€ 61,028.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mickalene Thomas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Racquel Reclining Wearing Purple Jumpsuit in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,830,000.00 (€ 1,500,738.07).
