Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Qusuquzah #6 by Mickalene Thomas was auctioned at Christies in New York in May this year. The price achieved of USD 359,100.00 (€ 337,056.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mickalene Thomas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Racquel Reclining Wearing Purple Jumpsuit in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,830,000.00 (€ 1,500,738.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Qusuquzah #6 von Mickalene Thomas kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 359.100,00 (€ 337.056,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mickalene Thomas auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Racquel Reclining Wearing Purple Jumpsuit im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.830.000,00 (€ 1.500.738,07).
