Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Red Sweater by Mickalene Thomas was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in New York in March this year. The price achieved of USD 35,560.00 (€ 32,707.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mickalene Thomas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Racquel Reclining Wearing Purple Jumpsuit in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,830,000.00 (€ 1,500,738.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Red Sweater von Mickalene Thomas wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 35.560,00 (€ 32.707,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mickalene Thomas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Racquel Reclining Wearing Purple Jumpsuit im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.830.000,00 (€ 1.500.738,07).
