Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Seller And The Sold by Matthew Monahan was sold in the Contemporary Curated auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2019. It changed hands for a price of USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,123.09) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Matthew Monahan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Morning Thaw in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 92,000.00 (€ 59,125.96).

Die Arbeit The Seller And The Sold von Matthew Monahan wurde im März 2019 in der Auktion Contemporary Curated bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 6.875,00 (€ 6.123,09) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Matthew Monahan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Morning Thaw im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 92.000,00 (€ 59.125,96).
