Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Throne I by Matthew Monahan was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in London in June 2017. It changed hands for a price of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,658.68) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Matthew Monahan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Morning Thaw, which sold at auction in May 2008 for USD 92,000.00 (€ 59,125.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Throne I von Matthew Monahan wurde im Juni 2017 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.658,68) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Matthew Monahan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Morning Thaw beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für USD 92.000,00 (€ 59.125,96) versteigert wurde.
