The work Cremaster 2: The Book of Mormon by Matthew Barney was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in May last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 20,160.00 (€ 18,786.69), 34% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matthew Barney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Drawing Restraint 8: Condition 2003 in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 1,205,000.00 (€ 883,431.09).

Die Arbeit Cremaster 2: The Book of Mormon von Matthew Barney wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 20.160,00 (€ 18.786,69) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Matthew Barney erzielen.
