Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October last year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Cremaster 5 by Matthew Barney. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,008.00 (€ 1,014.70). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matthew Barney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Drawing Restraint 8: Condition 2003 in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 1,205,000.00 (€ 883,431.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cremaster 5 von Matthew Barney zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 1.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 1.008,00 (€ 1.014,70) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Matthew Barney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Drawing Restraint 8: Condition 2003 im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.205.000,00 (€ 883.431,09).
