Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Newz! by Math Bass. Here, the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 40,000.00 (€ 35,922.77). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Math Bass - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Newz!, which sold at auction in November 2015 for USD 81,250.00 (€ 76,926.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Newz! von Math Bass zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 40.000,00 (€ 35.922,77) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Math Bass mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Newz! beobachtet, die im November 2015 für USD 81.250,00 (€ 76.926,72) versteigert wurde.
