Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2020 Phillips in New York held the auction New Now, which included the work Cowhide/Fried Egg by Math Bass. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,333.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Math Bass have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Newz! in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 81,250.00 (€ 76,926.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2020 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cowhide/Fried Egg von Math Bass zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.333,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Math Bass auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Newz! im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 76.926,72).
