This artwork by Mary Weatherford achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2019. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Worlds Within Worlds sold for USD 350,000.00 (€ 313,929.50) - well above the upper estimate of USD 200,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Mary Weatherford; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Coney Island sold at auction in September last year with the realized price of USD 478,800.00 (€ 489,420.42).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Mary Weatherford erzielte im Mai 2019 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Worlds Within Worlds für USD 350.000,00 (€ 313.929,50) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 200.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Mary Weatherford; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Coney Island im September letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 478.800,00 (€ 489.420,42).
