Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Grey Light Grid Series by Mary Corse was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2020. The price achieved of USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,601.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mary Corse achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (White/Black Inner Band Beveled) in December 2020 with an auction result of HKD 5,000,000.00 (€ 527,391.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Grey Light Grid Series von Mary Corse kam im März 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 47.601,78) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mary Corse erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (White/Black Inner Band Beveled) im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.000.000,00 (€ 527.391,66).
