Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Estrutura De Caixas De Fósforos Vermelho (7 Caixas) by Lygia Clark was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2021. The price achieved of USD 176,400.00 (€ 144,661.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lygia Clark achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Contra Relevo (Objeto N. 7) in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 2,225,000.00 (€ 1,713,119.80).
