Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Day Auction, which included the work Bicho-Monumento a todas as situações-Md (Version III) by Lygia Clark. Here, the upper estimate of USD 600,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 685,500.00 (€ 607,335.87). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lygia Clark - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Contra Relevo (Objeto N. 7), which sold at auction in May 2013 for USD 2,225,000.00 (€ 1,713,119.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bicho-Monumento a todas as situações-Md (Version III) von Lygia Clark zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 600.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 685.500,00 (€ 607.335,87) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Lygia Clark mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Contra Relevo (Objeto N. 7) beobachtet, die im Mai 2013 für USD 2.225.000,00 (€ 1.713.119,80) versteigert wurde.
