Signed "Lygia Clark" on a certificate of authenticity accompanying the work. This work is number 484 from an edition of 1,000. This work is accompanied by the original acrylic and cardboard box, issued by the artist for the Bolsa de Valores do Rio de Janeiro in August, 1984. This work is based on a study created in balsa wood in 1959, followed by an aluminum model created in 1961.

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Caranguejo by Lygia Clark was auctioned at Phillips in New York in May 2014. It achieved a price of USD 23,750.00 (€ 17,412.02), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 19%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lygia Clark achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Contra Relevo (Objeto N. 7) in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 2,225,000.00 (€ 1,713,119.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Caranguejo von Lygia Clark kam im Mai 2014 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 17.412,02) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 19%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lygia Clark erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Contra Relevo (Objeto N. 7) im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.225.000,00 (€ 1.713.119,80).
