This artwork by Lygia Clark achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2014. In the Latin American Art Modern & Contemporary auction, the work Bicho-Em-Si-Md (No Iv) sold for USD 1,169,000.00 (€ 857,038.12) - well above the upper estimate of USD 600,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Lygia Clark; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Contra Relevo (Objeto N. 7) sold at auction in May 2013 with the realized price of USD 2,225,000.00 (€ 1,713,119.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 95 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lygia Clark erzielte im Mai 2014 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Latin American Art Modern & Contemporary wurde die Arbeit Bicho-Em-Si-Md (No Iv) für USD 1.169.000,00 (€ 857.038,12) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 600.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Lygia Clark; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Contra Relevo (Objeto N. 7) im Mai 2013 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 2.225.000,00 (€ 1.713.119,80).
