Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Vermeer by Llyn Foulkes was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2015. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 9,310.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Llyn Foulkes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work My Last Chance in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 106,513.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Vermeer von Llyn Foulkes kam im März 2015 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 9.310,12) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Llyn Foulkes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit My Last Chance im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 106.513,92).
