Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Carte Postale by Llyn Foulkes was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 81,250.00 (€ 68,288.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Llyn Foulkes have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2015 the work My Last Chance was auctioned for USD 112,500.00 (€ 106,513.92).

Die Arbeit Carte Postale von Llyn Foulkes wurde im November 2017 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 68.288,79) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Llyn Foulkes konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im November 2015 die Arbeit My Last Chance für USD 112.500,00 (€ 106.513,92) versteigert.
