Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2006 Phillips in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Part II, which included the work Life is Aloft #3 by Li Wei. The price achieved of USD 5,040.00 (€ 3,800.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Li Wei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Freedegree Over 29Th Story, Soho, Beijing, 2003, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,310.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2006 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Life is Aloft #3 von Li Wei zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.040,00 (€ 3.800,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Li Wei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Freedegree Over 29Th Story, Soho, Beijing, 2003 beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für GBP 11.250,00 (€ 14.310,49) versteigert wurde.
