Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Li Wei could be acquired at Phillips in London in December 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the New Now auction, the work The baby leaves away from the Earth changed hands for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,477.35) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Li Wei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Freedegree Over 29Th Story, Soho, Beijing, 2003 in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,310.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Li Wei konnte im Dezember 2019 bei Phillips in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion New Now wechselte die Arbeit The baby leaves away from the Earth für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.477,35) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Li Wei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Freedegree Over 29Th Story, Soho, Beijing, 2003 im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 14.310,49).
