Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Green Guy Flag n.1 by Li Wei was auctioned at Phillips in 7 - in December this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 635.00 (€ 574.04). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Li Wei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Freedegree Over 29Th Story, Soho, Beijing, 2003 in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,310.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Green Guy Flag n.1 von Li Wei im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Phillips in 7 - versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 635,00 (€ 574,04) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Li Wei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Freedegree Over 29Th Story, Soho, Beijing, 2003 im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 14.310,49).
