In November 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Atmosphères Iii/Gyorgy Ligeti by Kazuya Sakai. The »bidding war« ended at USD 50,000.00 (€ 42,023.87), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kazuya Sakai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Sky of Texas, which sold at auction in September last year for USD 107,100.00 (€ 109,475.62).

Im November 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Atmosphères Iii/Gyorgy Ligeti von Kazuya Sakai zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 42.023,87) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Kazuya Sakai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Sky of Texas beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für USD 107.100,00 (€ 109.475,62) versteigert wurde.
