Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Apl No. 1 Alaskan Plants by Jason Middlebrook was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,500.00 (€ 1,402.13). Admittedly, works by Jason Middlebrook have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lighting The Over And The Under in March 2014 with an auction result of USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,712.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Apl No. 1 Alaskan Plants von Jason Middlebrook im März 2017 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.500,00 (€ 1.402,13) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jason Middlebrook auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lighting The Over And The Under im März 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 7.712,13).
