Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (B155.1) by Jan Groover was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 8,125.00 (€ 5,219.04). Other works by Jan Groover have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June 2010 by the work Still Life Studies at USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,170.04).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (B155.1) von Jan Groover im April 2008 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 8.125,00 (€ 5.219,04) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Jan Groover wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juni 2010 die Arbeit Still Life Studies mit USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.170,04).
