In December 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection, which included the work Untitled (Construction with Lead Brick) by Jan Groover. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,090.76), 26% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Groover - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life Studies, which sold at auction in June 2010 for USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,170.04).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Construction with Lead Brick) von Jan Groover zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.090,76) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Groover mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still Life Studies beobachtet, die im Juni 2010 für USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.170,04) versteigert wurde.
