This artwork by Jan Groover achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in July 2020. In the Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection auction, the work without title sold for USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,431.63) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jan Groover; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Still Life Studies sold at auction in June 2010 with the realized price of USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,170.04).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jan Groover erzielte im Juli 2020 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.431,63) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jan Groover; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Still Life Studies im Juni 2010 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.170,04).
