Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jack Levine could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern Discoveries auction, the work Study For Man With a Cigar changed hands for USD 1,764.00 (€ 1,590.19) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jack Levine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Princess in December 2011 with an auction result of USD 86,500.00 (€ 66,676.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jack Levine konnte im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern Discoveries wechselte die Arbeit Study For Man With a Cigar für USD 1.764,00 (€ 1.590,19) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00.
