Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Adam And Eve by Jack Levine. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 31,250.00 (€ 23,731.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jack Levine - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Princess, which sold at auction in December 2011 for USD 86,500.00 (€ 66,676.94).
