Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Banquet by Jack Levine was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2014. Here, the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 43,750.00 (€ 31,542.90). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jack Levine - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Princess, which sold at auction in December 2011 for USD 86,500.00 (€ 66,676.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Banquet von Jack Levine kam im April 2014 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 43.750,00 (€ 31.542,90) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jack Levine mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Princess beobachtet, die im Dezember 2011 für USD 86.500,00 (€ 66.676,94) versteigert wurde.
