Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Postscript To The Roaring Tropics by Jack Levine for USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,030.71). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Jack Levine have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Princess in December 2011 with an auction result of USD 86,500.00 (€ 66,676.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Postscript To The Roaring Tropics von Jack Levine für USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.030,71) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jack Levine auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Princess im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 86.500,00 (€ 66.676,94).
