Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work The Half of the Painting #8 by Ilya Kabakov for USD 18,900.00 (€ 17,612.52). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ilya Kabakov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beetle in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 2,932,500.00 (€ 3,835,594.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Half of the Painting #8 von Ilya Kabakov für USD 18.900,00 (€ 17.612,52) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ilya Kabakov erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beetle im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.932.500,00 (€ 3.835.594,92).
