Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Composer by Ilya Kabakov was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2021. The price achieved of GBP 302,400.00 (€ 360,699.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ilya Kabakov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beetle in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 2,932,500.00 (€ 3,835,594.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Composer von Ilya Kabakov kam im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 302.400,00 (€ 360.699,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ilya Kabakov erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beetle im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.932.500,00 (€ 3.835.594,92).
