In November 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Russian Pictures, which included the work In the Forest by Ilya Kabakov. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,410.00 (€ 5,177.75), 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ilya Kabakov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beetle in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 2,932,500.00 (€ 3,835,594.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Russian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit In the Forest von Ilya Kabakov zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.410,00 (€ 5.177,75) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ilya Kabakov erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beetle im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.932.500,00 (€ 3.835.594,92).
