A top price for Ilya Kabakov
In February 2008 Phillips in London held the auction Contemporary Russian Art, which included the work Beetle by Ilya Kabakov. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,932,500.00 (€ 3,835,594.92), 63% above the upper estimate. This high result makes Beetle the most expensive artwork by Ilya Kabakov that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Februar 2008 führte Phillips in London die Auktion Contemporary Russian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Beetle von Ilya Kabakov zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.932.500,00 (€ 3.835.594,92) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Beetle zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Ilya Kabakov, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
