Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Well Two Works by Huang Yong Ping was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 68,750.00 (€ 57,782.82). Admittedly, works by Huang Yong Ping have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le carte du monde in November 2007 with an auction result of HKD 3,367,500.00 (€ 294,381.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Well Two Works von Huang Yong Ping im November 2017 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 68.750,00 (€ 57.782,82) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Huang Yong Ping auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le carte du monde im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.367.500,00 (€ 294.381,13).
