Woodcut in colors, on J.W. Zanders pebbled wove paper, with full margins.
I. 11 x 13 1/4 in. (27.9 x 33.7 cm)
S. 13 3/8 x 17 1/8 in. (34 x 43.5 cm)
Signed and titled in pencil, from the second projected edition of 120 (there was also a first projected edition of 100), published by the artist (with his Hand-in-Heart inkstamp), 1931-32, framed.

In October this year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Tom A Hunting (C. 58) by Gustave Baumann. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,255.00 (€ 7,811.32), 65% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gustave Baumann - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Processional, which sold at auction in March this year for USD 28,050.00 (€ 25,800.22).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 65 % übertroffen

Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tom A Hunting (C. 58) von Gustave Baumann zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.255,00 (€ 7.811,32) und damit 65% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Gustave Baumann mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Processional beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für USD 28.050,00 (€ 25.800,22) versteigert wurde.
