Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Gego could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Prints & Multiples auction, the work Líneas changed hands for USD 22,500.00 (€ 19,855.28) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gego achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dibujo sin papel 85/13 in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 701,000.00 (€ 637,620.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gego konnte im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Prints & Multiples wechselte die Arbeit Líneas für USD 22.500,00 (€ 19.855,28) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gego erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dibujo sin papel 85/13 im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 701.000,00 (€ 637.620,52).
