Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Gary Hill could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Liminal Objects #2 (House And Brain) changed hands for USD 48,000.00 (€ 35,679.77) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gary Hill - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Crossbow, which sold at auction in November 2007 for USD 169,000.00 (€ 115,059.91).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Gary Hill konnte im Mai 2007 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale wechselte die Arbeit Liminal Objects #2 (House And Brain) für USD 48.000,00 (€ 35.679,77) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gary Hill mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Crossbow beobachtet, die im November 2007 für USD 169.000,00 (€ 115.059,91) versteigert wurde.
