The work Refuge by Enrique Martinez Celaya was sold in the Contemporary Art Day auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2011. The auction ended at the price of USD 20,000.00 (€ 13,912.08), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Enrique Martinez Celaya - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Beautiful Life, which sold at auction in May 2007 for USD 60,000.00 (€ 44,599.72).
