It achieved a price of USD 17,500.00 (€ 12,929.44), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 46%. Admittedly, works by Douglas Huebler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Variable Piece #101 in September 2016 with an auction result of GBP 52,500.00 (€ 60,801.52).

Die Arbeit Crocodile Tears: Buried Treasure (Bruegel I) von Douglas Huebler kam im September 2013 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 12.929,44) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Douglas Huebler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Variable Piece #101 im September 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 52.500,00 (€ 60.801,52).
