Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Douglas Huebler could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection auction, the work Crocodile Tears Ii: Buried Treasure (Monet) changed hands for USD 11,875.00 (€ 9,638.80) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Douglas Huebler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Variable Piece #101 in September 2016 with an auction result of GBP 52,500.00 (€ 60,801.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Douglas Huebler konnte im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection wechselte die Arbeit Crocodile Tears Ii: Buried Treasure (Monet) für USD 11.875,00 (€ 9.638,80) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Douglas Huebler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Variable Piece #101 im September 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 52.500,00 (€ 60.801,52).
