This artwork by Derek Jarman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in July 2020. In the New Now auction, the work Silence sold for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 6,971.40) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Derek Jarman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sightless in October 2001 with an auction result of GBP 18,800.00 (€ 30,383.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 79 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Derek Jarman erzielte im Juli 2020 bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion New Now wurde die Arbeit Silence für GBP 6.250,00 (€ 6.971,40) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Derek Jarman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sightless im Oktober 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.800,00 (€ 30.383,54).
