Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Derek Jarman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March 2015. In the Made In Britain auction, the work Flower Piece sold for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 11,233.24) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Derek Jarman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sightless, which sold at auction in October 2001 for GBP 18,800.00 (€ 30,383.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Derek Jarman erzielte im März 2015 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Made In Britain wurde die Arbeit Flower Piece für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 11.233,24) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Derek Jarman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sightless beobachtet, die im Oktober 2001 für GBP 18.800,00 (€ 30.383,54) versteigert wurde.
