The work We Wait And Wait by Derek Jarman was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2014. It achieved a price of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,538.81), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. Admittedly, works by Derek Jarman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sightless in October 2001 with an auction result of GBP 18,800.00 (€ 30,383.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit We Wait And Wait von Derek Jarman kam im März 2014 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.538,81) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Derek Jarman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sightless im Oktober 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.800,00 (€ 30.383,54).
