Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Elements For Graveyard Cloth, Don Giovanni by Derek Jarman was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,723.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Derek Jarman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sightless in October 2001 with an auction result of GBP 18,800.00 (€ 30,383.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Elements For Graveyard Cloth, Don Giovanni von Derek Jarman kam im März 2014 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.723,29) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Derek Jarman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sightless im Oktober 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.800,00 (€ 30.383,54).
