Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
The work Dungeness G1 by Derek Jarman was worth GBP 18,750.00 (€ 20,914.20) to a buyer in July 2020. This price was achieved in the auction New Now at Phillips in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Derek Jarman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Sightless sold at auction in October 2001 with the realized price of GBP 18,800.00 (€ 30,383.54).

Die Arbeit Dungeness G1 von Derek Jarman war einem Käufer im Juli 2020 GBP 18.750,00 (€ 20.914,20) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.500,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Derek Jarman; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Sightless im Oktober 2001 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 18.800,00 (€ 30.383,54).
