Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Three Letters by Damián Ortega was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2015. The price achieved of USD 23,750.00 (€ 21,602.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Damián Ortega - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Auto construcción, caja de velocidades, which sold at auction in May 2013 for USD 100,000.00 (€ 76,994.15).

Die Arbeit Three Letters von Damián Ortega kam im Mai 2015 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 21.602,69) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Damián Ortega mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Auto construcción, caja de velocidades beobachtet, die im Mai 2013 für USD 100.000,00 (€ 76.994,15) versteigert wurde.
